I was totally thinking the same thing. Jinx! buy me a coke! (lol, that makes me feel old )
I saw this in another post, and had to ask. What pseudo romantic moments between Ben and Felcity?? I read the books, there were none. There weren't any in the movie either, so what is everyone talking about??? I am just not sure............

I haven't seen the other topic where this was discussed, but I remember once or twice when Felicity and Ben were talking that they seemed a little more close than you would expect for a 10yo girl and 15yo boy.
A little close??? What do you mean? He lived with their family, and was more like an older brother to her......
I remember thinking Ben was cute when I was a kid and read the books.
Not physically close, more like "familiar" "intimate" or whatever you want to say. It was probably due to the way the movie was filmed. The combination of the music and the camera lingering on Felicity's facial expression after she would say something to him and the same thing with Ben. It's more of a feeling you get when watching, it's nothing they do or say.
My mom and I kept making jokes about Ben and Felicity. Sadly, some of them probably wouldn't be too kid friendly, so I won't repeat them.
Honestly, I can't even think of what it was that was incredibly weird at the moment. I really don't think there was much said, but like Tracy said, there were "lingering" glances, and other totaly unsubtle things that some people might not even notice.
If I watch it again on Sunday (or was it Saturday?) I'll be sure to take note of some of the instances I noticed.
OK, so it's the effect it has on people... well, I am not into romantic stuff at all, I HATE romances, so I wouldn't think of that, but I guess people that think along the romantic way might come up with that??? Thanks for helping...

You did mention in the first post that you didn't notice it in the books, either. I definitely noticed it, there, too, though. I'm not sure if it really SEEMED like it or if it really just seemed like Valerie Tripp was setting up for you to either use your imagination, or perhaps setting up for a future book someday where it did happen. I do read a LOT, and that's done a lot, setting up for things in subtle little ways, so perhaps I was looking for it in the books. And like The Brightly Colored Moth said, Ben was just cute in the books, haha.
I do think it was pretty obvious in the movie, I'm surprised you didn't see it, at least a little. My mom noticed, and she never read Lissie's books.
